Why buy a battery pack from us?

For any e-bike you may be planning to buy or build on your own, the battery pack is one of the more expensive parts.BUYING from Kobois assures that you will have a top quality  pack with years of performance with very little degradation or another way to put it,loss of power and capacity when used according to our very easy to understand PROVEN TECHNIQUES and CARE PROCEDURES.

OUR packs are better, PERIOD

We check each and every cell for FULL CAPACITY and undue energy loss over short periods of time, due to any defects that can occur in even the best of the brand name battery cells available on the planet. Any cell that is deemed unfit to be used in our assembled packs are simply placed in a bin allocated to be sold simply as flashlight batteries where the importance of staying balanced along with a large array of cells simply does not exist. 

No Battery Management System (BMS) REQUIRED

Here at Kobois we believe the best BMS is the HUMAN BMS. In general they are more often than not the culprit of battery pack failure, YES there are BMS’s that are highly reliable,BUT those are for very expensive set-ups that are found on electric cars or other big ticket items requiring 1000’s and 1000’s of cells and are manufactured by huge corporate entities that have the knowledge and resources to implement highly reliable BMS boards that are manufactured in huge quantities benefiting economies of scale that no small company can compete.

How our packs stay reliable, Balanced and Protected

We in fact incorporate highly reliable CELL LOGGERS that will give you a clear audible alarm should something go wrong with any of the cell banks in our packs allowing you to quickly spot out any defect cells that my arise during use AND FIX THE PROBLEM BEFORE IT RENDERS THE PACK UNUSABLE.

A Kobois battery pack is very easily repairable, no other battery manufacturer can currently make that claim!

Because all our packs use our EXCLUSIVE  DUAL plastic “Trellis” In the RARE EVENT you will easily be able to BRING IN YOUR BATTERY PACK TO ANY REPUTABLE electronics repair store.

THEY CAN VERY EASILY remove any one cell that may be defective, located anywhere WITHOUT having to spend hours and hours DISMANTLING THE WHOLE PACK, THEN THEY can replace said cell with a new one just as easy as pie. (all that is required once a cell is replaced is a basic soldering iron to solder the TAB OF THE CELL to the others in that bank of cells).IT MUST BE NOTED: Never ever solder a 18650 cell on the bare cell itself, it must have a “TAB” located on the NEGATIVE AND POSITIVE POLES,Failure to have that tab and trying to solder directly on the pole will cause irreparable damage to the cell itself,packs always must be assembled using special spot welders specifically designed and calibrated for 18650 cells.

WARNING!!! BE WELL AWARE in the rare event THAT SHOULD A CELL GO BAD IN THE PACK YOU MUST BRING IT TO A REPUTABLE ELECTRONICS REPAIR SHOP IN YOUR AREA.ANY PERSON WORKING ON SUCH A BATTERY PACK MUST BE VERY VERY CAREFUL WHEN WORKING WITH SAID PACK AS THE EXTREMELY HIGH VOLTAGES WILL CAUSE EXTREME BURNS IF SHORTED AS WELL AS SEVERE ELECTRIC SHOCK THAT CAN CAUSE SEVERE INJURY AND OR DEATH!!!NEVER EVER WORK ON A KOBOIS BATTERY PACK OR ANY BATTERY PACK UNLESS YOU ARE  CERTIFIED & VERY WELL VERSED IN ELECTRONICS REPAIR AND ELECTRICITY, OTHERWISE YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS ON DOING SUCH A REPAIR AND OUR COMPANY ASSUMES NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER.

IN our manufacturing process we only use Capacitive Discharge Spot Welders

Most pack manufacturers do not mention the equipment that is used to weld the cells together,there are cheap $200.00 Chinese spot welders which deliver NON UNIFORM WELDS, THIS MEANS: Some welds will be better than others,non uniformity in a pack causes havoc in terms of staying balanced. We use only AMERICAN MADE highly accurate DUAL PULSE MICROPROCESSOR CONTROLLED Capacitive Discharge Welders which have starting costs of no less then $7000.00 USD. This assures UNIFORM WELDING throughout the whole pack.
